Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 30, 2026
ClearCal (“ClearCal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) helps groups compare calendar availability and choose times to meet. This Privacy Policy explains what information ClearCal processes, how calendar sharing works, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create or use a ClearCal account, we may receive:
- Your name and email address.
- A unique account identifier.
- Your authentication provider, such as Sign in with Apple or Google.
- Account and session information needed to keep you signed in securely.
Group and Poll Information
We store information needed to provide ClearCal’s group features, including:
- Groups you create or join.
- Group membership and administrator status.
- Invitations and invitation status.
- Poll names, proposed dates and times, responses, and poll status.
- Your calendar-sharing preference and consent for each group.
Calendar Information
ClearCal accesses Apple Calendar only after you grant permission.
Depending on the calendars and sharing level you select, ClearCal may process:
- Calendar identifiers, names, and colors.
- Event identifiers.
- Event start and end times.
- Whether an event is all day.
- Availability information derived from calendar events.
- Event titles when needed to support the Titles sharing level.
ClearCal does not upload or share calendar event notes, locations, attachments, or attendee lists.
Event titles may be processed and stored securely so the Titles sharing level can function. Titles are shown to members of a specific group only when that group is using Titles and your sharing permission for that specific group allows it.
Device and Service Information
We may process:
- Push-notification tokens.
- An app-generated device identifier used to manage notifications.
- Authentication, request, security, and error logs generated while operating the service.
ClearCal does not use third-party advertising trackers and does not sell personal information.
How Calendar Sharing Works
Calendar sharing is controlled separately for each group.
ClearCal offers three sharing levels:
- Simple: Shows whether you are generally free or busy without event titles or detailed time ranges.
- Times: Shows busy time ranges without event titles.
- Titles: Shows busy time ranges and event titles.
Permission to share Titles in one group does not automatically apply to another group. You may reduce or revoke your sharing permission for a group at any time.
Changing your sharing preference prevents future access beyond the newly permitted level after the change is processed. It cannot erase information another group member may already have viewed.
You can also revoke ClearCal’s access to Apple Calendar through iOS Settings. Revoking system permission stops future calendar access but does not automatically delete information previously synchronized with ClearCal. You may request deletion as described below.
How We Use Information
- Create and manage accounts and groups.
- Compare availability among group members.
- Display the calendar-sharing level each member has approved.
- Create, manage, and synchronize polls.
- Send group and poll notifications.
- Prevent duplicate calendar events.
- Maintain security, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse.
- Provide support and communicate important service changes.
- Comply with legal obligations.
How We Share Information
Other Group Members
Members of a group may see your name, membership status, poll responses, and the calendar information allowed by that group’s effective sharing level and your consent.
Service Providers
We use service providers to operate ClearCal, including:
- Supabase for authentication, database storage, realtime updates, and backend functions.
- Apple for Sign in with Apple, Apple Calendar access, push notifications, and App Store distribution.
- Google when you choose Google authentication.
These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies and only as needed to provide their services to ClearCal.
Legal and Safety Requirements
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal requests, protect users, investigate abuse or fraud, or protect ClearCal’s rights and security.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain information for as long as needed to operate ClearCal, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms.
Calendar synchronization data may be replaced or removed as calendars are synchronized, group memberships change, sharing permission is revoked, or an account is deleted.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting info@getclearcal.com. Some information may be retained when required by law, for fraud prevention, or temporarily in secure backups. Information belonging to other users will not be deleted merely because it appeared in a group you shared.
You can also delete your account using the account-deletion control inside the app.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information associated with your account.
- Correct inaccurate account information.
- Request deletion of your account and personal information.
- Withdraw calendar access or group-sharing consent.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request a portable copy of information you provided.
You may manage calendar permission through iOS Settings, notification permission through iOS Settings, and group-sharing choices inside ClearCal.

Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, including authentication, access controls, encrypted network connections, and database security policies.
No service can guarantee absolute security. Please contact us if you believe your account or information has been accessed without permission.
Children’s Privacy
ClearCal is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
International Processing
ClearCal and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
